Biggest and best events in Cambridge Summer 2019
Although Cambridge has a lot to offer all year round, the summer is an especially good time to be in the city. A great choice of events take place across Cambridge throughout June, July, and August, ensuring there’s always something going on to keep you busy.

Cambridge University Botanic Garden – Summer Music
If you love fresh air, green spaces and spending time in the great outdoors, a trip to the Cambridge University Botanic Garden is a must this summer. You can make your visit to this picturesque spot even more enjoyable by booking tickets for one of the up-coming Sounds Green events.
Taking place throughout July, these open air concerts are the perfect way to combine your love of music with your appreciation of Mother Nature. As there is limited availability for each gig, it’s essential to book your tickets early. Pack a picnic to enjoy as the sun goes down or pick up some food and drink from one of the excellent food stands available at the event.
Parker’s Piece – Big Weekend
Located just a short walk from a number of our central Cambridge properties, Parker’s Piece hosts a variety of events throughout the year. One of the biggest and best is the Big Weekend.
This year, the event – which runs from the 7th to the 9th of July – will feature a fantastic choice of live music acts, a French Market, a Gaming Hub, a Sports Zone, and the ever-popular Cambridge Mela which celebrates the best of the city’s Asian culture. As @VisitCambs says, ‘An entertainment and activity packed Big Weekend with something for everyone, looks set to be an unmissable highlight in the city this summer!’
Cambridge Museum of Technology – Classic and Vintage Motorcycles Day
A fantastic opportunity for motorbike enthusiasts to indulge their passion, and owners to show off their prized possessions, the Classic and Vintage Motorcycles Day at the Cambridge Museum of Technology makes a great excursion for all the family.
Taking place on the 30th of June, just across the road from our Fitzgerald Place properties, the event gives you the perfect chance to find out a little more about these incredible machines.
The museum is also home to Othersyde, dubbed as an exciting outside and socialising spot, the bar right by the riverside will host live music events, street-food vendors, an outdoor cinema and even daytime yoga, plus a whole host of other interesting events.
